Experimental Typography || Mojang + Fictional Brands

Experimental typography is one of my favorite things to do as a designers and I spend a lot of time on my off-time practicing it. The posters below are for made-up companies, except of course, Mojang—I really did do the typography for them :).

And no, the lettering is not AI, but I did use AI to help me generate the other parts of the photo like some of the backgrounds. For example, I used AI to help me generate the chicken drumsticks for the BBQ poster. Another example would be the meat slap and cutting board on the one with sewn meat. However, I did sow the string into a piece of meat first and then combined the AI photo with the hand lettering I had already made.

I hope you enjoy these posters and find them inspiring!

If you ever need an experimental typographer, I’m your girl.

The lettering for Mojans Studio was a real project while I worked at Minecraft.

Lettering for Mojang Studio’s, the creators of Minecraft (owned by Microsoft) MoJAM week. Hand-made letters made out of real strawberry jelly for poster design. The Mojang logo on the top left of the poster is made with real bread as well.

Keep scrolling to see a time-lapse of how I did the lettering!

*Typography is not AI—type was actually hand-made.
*Bing AI was used for other parts of the poster such as the chicken thigh, dirt ground, bowl of berries, etc.
